4/4- PHOTOIMPACT SPECIAL EDITION LIMITATIONS

PhotoImpact SE is a great program for casual image processing and for beginners just starting out. You may have noticed, however, that there are a number of features that have been disabled in the SE version. (The full version of PhotoImpact, is of course, not limited in any way!)

A- Limitations overview

Modifying Effects
While you can try and use all of the cool 3D, warping, particle, plug-ins and effects, you are unable to modify their parameters. So, for example, while you can transform your text into a 3D object, you cannot control how thick it looks, the texture, reflections, or lighting.

Limited Web tools
You can use some of the items on the Web menu, many have been disabled. The SE version offers some help with Internet imaging needs, but you will be unable to create unique seamless backgrounds, design matching buttons, or put frames around your images.

Pre-set EasyPalette
The EasyPalette allows you to drag and drop effects right onto your image. In the SE version, you will be unable to adjust the effects and cannot import new effects into the EasyPalette.

Limited Galleries and Effects
The SE version contains only a sample of the total number of effects and galleries available in the full version. To conserve space, many of the samples and much of the clip art has been eliminated.

Creative and Magic Effects
The Creative and Magic items on the Effects menu have been disabled. They include Artist textures (charcoal, crayon, oil paint), Magic warp, and Transform.

Text and Path tools
For both of these tools, you will be unable to use the gradient fills, magic and natural textures, nor adjust the lighting, thickness, and reflective attributes of 3D objects.
